In the summer months, our Deep Bay Suites offers the best of on-the-ocean activities. Fishing, snorkeling, diving, swimming, , water skiing are among the few beach or ocean activities literally at your front oceanfront door.
A little further away, you have easy access to cave splunking, oyster/clam collecting, marine research center exploring, sand castle viewing/making, classic car show attendance or other scheduled summer events in the closest cities, Nanaimo and Courtenay. You also have a 15 minute drive to the ferry to Denman and Hornby Islands.
You can easily launch your kayak, stand-up paddle board or canoe from our beach to leisurely get to these islands, passing along the way, one of the few manned lighthouses (Chrome Lights Station) or the seal slumber grounds off Hornby – Norris Rocks.
